Home elevators and lift service in Naples.

In Naples, the elevator is part of the interior.

In Port Royal, Aqualane Shores, Park Shore and Pelican Bay, an elevator is rarely an afterthought. Architects draw it into the plans, designers specify the cab panels to match the millwork, and glass elevators are placed where they can be seen. We work from those drawings and coordinate with the builder and the designer so the finished cab looks like it belongs to the house.

Naples also has a large number of elevators installed fifteen and twenty years ago that still run but look and ride their age. Modernization, with new controls, a new cab interior and updated safety devices, is a large share of our work here. So is maintenance for owners who are away from May to November and want the elevator ready when they return.

Choosing equipment

What Naples owners tend to choose.

West of 41, in Port Royal, Aqualane Shores and Old Naples, most of our conversations start with an architect. These are new builds or full rebuilds on valuable lots, three levels is common, and the elevator is specified alongside the staircase. Hydraulic elevators are popular here for their smooth, quiet ride, and glass is chosen where the elevator sits in view.

In Pelican Bay, Park Shore and The Moorings there’s a mix of older single-family homes being remodeled and villas where space is tighter. Inland, in Grey Oaks, Mediterra, Quail Creek and Pine Ridge, large two-story homes on bigger lots usually have room for a conventional hoistway, and owners often add the elevator during a wider renovation. In Golden Gate Estates the calls are more practical: a stairlift or a platform lift so someone can stay in the house.

Service and repair

Looking after lifts in Naples.

Naples has more home elevators per street than anywhere else we work, and many were installed by companies that have since changed hands or left the area. We take on service for all the major residential brands. A first visit covers a full inspection of the rails, drive, door locks, controller and safety devices, and you get a plain account of what’s fine, what’s worn and what’s worth planning for. From there most owners put the elevator on a schedule that fits their time in residence. When something does stop working mid-season, a customer we already maintain is a quicker repair, because we know the machine and often have the right parts to hand.

Cost and planning

What a home elevator costs in Naples.

New home elevator, installed

$25,000to$60,000

Stairlifts and platform lifts cost less.

Where yours lands depends on the drive type, the number of stops, the hoistway and the cab finish. In Naples the cab often drives the price as much as the machine. Glass hoistways, hardwood panels and custom lighting sit at the top of the range, and a third or fourth stop adds to it. Modernizing an older elevator usually costs well below a new installation, because the hoistway and much of the structure stay in place.

Our home elevator cost guide breaks down each factor, and the stairlift cost and funding guide covers VA, Medicaid and other help with paying for a lift.

Local questions

Questions from Naples homeowners.

Can you match the cab to our interior designer’s specification?

Yes. Panel style, wood species, stain, ceiling, lighting, handrail and fixtures are all selected for the project, and we coordinate details like flooring recess with your designer.

Our elevator is original to a 2005 home. Repair or modernize?

If it’s reliable and parts are available, repair and regular service may be all it needs. If repairs are getting frequent or the cab looks dated, modernization gives you a new ride and a new interior on the existing structure. We’ll inspect it and price both.

We’re away from May to November. What should happen to the elevator?

It should be parked at an upper landing and kept on a maintenance schedule. Elevators left unused in summer humidity are the ones that fail in the first week of season. We can service it while you’re away and check it before you arrive.

Can you work with our builder and architect directly?

Yes. We supply hoistway dimensions, pit and overhead requirements, electrical rough-in details and shop drawings early, and we attend site meetings when it helps.

How much does a home elevator cost in Naples?

Most new home elevators we install cost $25,000 to $60,000. The number of stops, the drive type, the hoistway and the cab finish decide where a home in Naples lands. Stairlifts and platform lifts cost less. We give a written quote after a free in-home visit.

Does Medicare pay for a home elevator or stairlift?

Original Medicare does not, because it treats elevators and stairlifts as home modifications rather than medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans, VA benefits and Florida Medicaid long-term care can help in certain cases. Our stairlift cost and funding guide explains each option.
