Preventive maintenance, done properly.
Inspection
Rails, cables or hydraulics, door locks, gates and safety devices checked against the manufacturer’s schedule.
Lubrication and adjustment
Moving parts cleaned, lubricated and adjusted so the ride stays smooth and level at each landing.
Safety checks
Emergency lowering, battery backup, phone or alarm and interlocks tested so they work when they’re needed.
Written report
You get a clear note of what was done and anything we recommend watching or replacing.
The coast is hard on elevators.
Salt air corrodes rails and fixings. Humidity gets into controllers. Storm surge floods pits. Our service routines are built around those three things.
Before storm season
A pre-season check, and a plan for where to park the cab and how to shut the elevator down.
After a storm
Assessment of the pit, wiring and equipment before the elevator goes back into use, and restoration where it took damage.
Corrosion control
Cleaning and protection for exposed metal, with early replacement of parts that are starting to go.
Seasonal homes
Service scheduled around when you’re here, so the elevator is ready when you arrive.

Maintenance FAQ
How much does a maintenance plan cost?
Coastal Care plans start at $55 a month (Essential, one visit a year). The Coastal Care plan, with two visits timed around hurricane season and two service calls a year, is $105 a month. Coastal Care Plus, with weekday labor covered all year, is $165 a month. Pay for the year up front and save 5%.
How often should a home elevator be serviced?
Most manufacturers call for at least one visit a year. Near the coast, or for an elevator that is used heavily, twice a year is sensible. We will recommend an interval after seeing the equipment.
What can I do myself between visits?
Keep the door tracks and the sill clear, keep the pit and the machine space free of stored items, report any new noise or a cab that stops out of level, and run the elevator now and then if you are not using it daily.
Do you maintain stairlifts and platform lifts too?
Yes. Both benefit from a yearly check of batteries, charging contacts, switches and safety sensors.
Does maintenance prevent every breakdown?
No, but it prevents most of them and makes the rest quicker to fix, because the technician already knows the machine and its history.
