Aging in place, done before it’s urgent.
In communities like Bonita Bay, Pelican Landing, The Brooks and Miromar Lakes, many homes are two stories with the primary bedroom or guest rooms upstairs. Owners here often call us years before they strictly need to. They want to know whether an elevator will fit, what it would cost and whether the HOA will need to approve anything, so the decision is already made when the stairs become a problem.
Out at Bonita Beach and Barefoot Beach the conditions change. Those homes are elevated, exposed to the Gulf and were hit hard by Ian’s surge. There, our work is mostly elevators in new and rebuilt homes, and restoration of equipment that took on salt water.

The work we do here most.

Options for Bonita Springs and Estero homes.
In Bonita Bay, Pelican Landing and The Brooks, most homes are two stories on a slab, built in the 1990s and 2000s. There’s rarely a hoistway waiting, so we look for stacked closets or a corner of the garage that lines up with a room above. Where that doesn’t work, a shaftless elevator or a stairlift keeps the upstairs in use.
Around Miromar Lakes, West Bay Club and Grandezza the houses are newer and larger, and some were framed with a future elevator in mind. If yours has a pair of oversized closets one above the other, it may already be halfway there. On Bonita Beach, Little Hickory Island and Barefoot Beach, everything is elevated and exposed, and the installation is designed around salt and flood.
Permits in Bonita Springs & Estero
Bonita Springs and the Village of Estero are both incorporated and each handles its own permitting; some surrounding communities remain under Lee County. Many neighborhoods here also have an architectural review committee for anything visible from outside. We prepare the permit application and the paperwork your association asks for.
Storms and salt
Ian’s surge ran up the Imperial River and across Bonita Beach Road, and beachfront homes on Little Hickory Island and Barefoot Beach took the worst of it. Inland golf communities mostly stayed dry but lost power for days, which is its own test for battery backup systems. We check those batteries at every service visit.

Looking after lifts in Bonita Springs & Estero.
Many of the elevators and stairlifts in Bonita Springs and Estero were fitted when the communities were built and have had little attention since. If yours runs but hasn’t been serviced in years, it’s worth an inspection before it lets you down. We check the drive, rails, door locks and safety devices, replace backup batteries that have aged out and tell you what condition the equipment is in. For stairlifts, that includes the batteries, the charging contacts and the seat and footrest sensors. On Bonita Beach and Barefoot Beach, where everything lives in salt air, we recommend more frequent visits and pay particular attention to exposed metal and outdoor lifts.
What a home elevator costs in Bonita Springs and Estero.
New home elevator, installed
$25,000to$60,000
Stairlifts and platform lifts cost less.
Where yours lands depends on the drive type, the number of stops, the hoistway and the cab finish. Many Bonita Springs and Estero owners plan ahead in a two-story home, and the choice is usually a stairlift now or an elevator that will serve for decades. A shaftless elevator can fit an existing two-story home without building a full hoistway, and it costs less than a conventional elevator. Beachfront homes on stilts follow the same flood rules as the islands, which can add to the cost.
Our home elevator cost guide breaks down each factor, and the stairlift cost and funding guide covers VA, Medicaid and other help with paying for a lift.

Questions from Bonita Springs and Estero homeowners.
Will my HOA need to approve a home elevator?
Interior work usually doesn’t need approval, but anything that changes the outside of the house, such as a hoistway addition or an exterior platform lift, often does. We can provide drawings and specifications for your submission.
We don’t need an elevator yet. Is it worth a visit now?
Yes. Knowing where an elevator would go and what it would cost lets you plan, and if you’re remodeling anyway, framing the space now saves money later.
Our builder left stacked closets for a future elevator. What’s next?
A site visit to measure them. We’ll confirm the dimensions work, check what’s above and below, and quote an elevator sized to that space.
Can a stairlift be removed later without damage?
Yes. The rail fixes to the stair treads, not the wall, and can be taken out leaving only small screw holes to fill.
How much does a home elevator cost in Bonita Springs and Estero?
Most new home elevators we install cost $25,000 to $60,000. The number of stops, the drive type, the hoistway and the cab finish decide where a home in Bonita Springs and Estero lands. Stairlifts and platform lifts cost less. We give a written quote after a free in-home visit.
Does Medicare pay for a home elevator or stairlift?
Original Medicare does not, because it treats elevators and stairlifts as home modifications rather than medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans, VA benefits and Florida Medicaid long-term care can help in certain cases. Our stairlift cost and funding guide explains each option.
