Three floors, a boat dock and one elevator.
A typical newer Marco home has parking and storage at ground level, the main living floor above it and bedrooms above that. That’s three stops, and it’s why elevators are close to standard in new construction on the island. We work with Marco builders on hoistway dimensions and rough-in early, because changing them after framing is expensive.
Many of the island’s elevators date from the building boom of the early 2000s. Those are reaching the age where parts get harder to find and the ride gets rougher. We service all major brands on Marco and can modernize an older elevator in stages, so the work is spread out and the elevator isn’t out of service for long.

The work we do here most.
Three- and four-stop elevators
Sized for multi-level waterfront homes, with cab finishes to match.
Staged modernization
Controls first, then cab and fixtures, planned so downtime stays short.
Maintenance for seasonal owners
Scheduled service while you’re away and a readiness check before you return.
What works in Marco Island homes.
In The Estates, Caxambas and along the bays, the island’s biggest single-family homes run to three levels with wide water views from the top floor. Those need a three- or four-stop elevator with a cab large enough for a wheelchair and a companion, and most owners choose finishes to match the interior.
In Tigertail, Old Marco and the inland canal streets, older two-story homes are being remodeled more often than replaced. There, a compact elevator in a converted closet stack, or a shaftless lift, adds access without rebuilding the house. Hideaway Beach and Key Marco have their own design review, and we provide what those boards need.
Permits in Marco Island
The City of Marco Island issues its own building permits. Isles of Capri, Goodland and Fiddler’s Creek are outside the city and permit through Collier County. We handle the elevator application with whichever office applies and coordinate inspections with your contractor.
Storms and salt
Irma made landfall on Marco Island in September 2017, and Ian brought surge through the canals five years later. Elevators that went through both are now at the age where corrosion that started back then shows up as failures. An inspection tells you whether you’re looking at repairs or a modernization.

Looking after lifts in Marco Island.
Marco elevators work hard in season and sit idle through the wettest months, which is a tough combination. The faults we see most are seized gate and door hardware, weak backup batteries and electronics affected by humidity in ground-level equipment rooms. A maintenance visit before you return for the season catches most of that. We service all major residential brands on the island, and for elevators from the early 2000s we keep an eye on which parts are becoming hard to source, so you hear about it before a failure forces the decision. Access through your home watch company or property manager is routine for us.
What a home elevator costs in Marco Island.
New home elevator, installed
$25,000to$60,000
Stairlifts and platform lifts cost less.
Where yours lands depends on the drive type, the number of stops, the hoistway and the cab finish. Marco Island homes often need three or four stops, from the garage level to the top floor, and each extra stop adds to the price. Staged modernization spreads the cost of updating an older elevator over time: controls and safety devices first, the cab interior later.
Our home elevator cost guide breaks down each factor, and the stairlift cost and funding guide covers VA, Medicaid and other help with paying for a lift.

Questions from Marco Island homeowners.
Do you travel to Marco Island for service calls?
Yes. Marco Island is part of our regular Collier County service area, along with Isles of Capri and Goodland.
Can an older elevator be modernized without tearing out the cab?
Often it can. Controls, drive components and safety devices can be replaced first, with the cab interior refreshed later or at the same time. We’ll inspect it and lay out the options.
How large a cab do we need for a wheelchair?
Large enough for the chair to roll in and for a second person to stand alongside. We’ll size it to the chair you use and the space you have, and confirm clear door widths at each landing.
Is service available in summer when we’re not there?
Yes. We service Marco Island year-round and can work with your home watch or property manager for access.
How much does a home elevator cost in Marco Island?
Most new home elevators we install cost $25,000 to $60,000. The number of stops, the drive type, the hoistway and the cab finish decide where a home in Marco Island lands. Stairlifts and platform lifts cost less. We give a written quote after a free in-home visit.
Does Medicare pay for a home elevator or stairlift?
Original Medicare does not, because it treats elevators and stairlifts as home modifications rather than medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans, VA benefits and Florida Medicaid long-term care can help in certain cases. Our stairlift cost and funding guide explains each option.
